Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions to the officials regarding disaster management and security in the state during a high-level meeting at the CM residence on Monday. The Chief Minister said that places sensitive to landslides, avalanches and other natural disasters in the mountainous areas of the state should be identified immediately, so that vigilance can be taken before the possible danger. He gave clear instructions that no new settlement or new construction work will be allowed at these identified sensitive sites. The Chief Minister said that any kind of government or private construction work will be prohibited on the natural water sources and banks of rivers and drains of the state. For this, clear guidelines should be issued to all the District Magistrates. Their implementation should be monitored regularly.
The CM warned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against the officers who violate these instructions. The Chief Minister said that preventive measures should be given priority to avoid disaster and concrete and effective steps should be taken keeping in mind the public interest in sensitive areas.
