Preparations have been started for the monsoon session of the Assembly starting from August 19 in the summer capital Gairsain. In this connection, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, in a meeting called on Thursday in the auditorium of the Assembly building in Dehradun regarding security arrangements during the session, directed that along with keeping the security system tight, other facilities including water, electricity, medical should also be kept in order. The Assembly Speaker said that the Assembly session will be conducted under e-NEVA (National Electoral Web Application). In this connection, he instructed the ITDA to focus on improving internet service during the session. He also asked to ensure the presence of his representatives in the Assembly building during the session. He said that entry passes will be issued to one visitor on the recommendation of MLAs and two visitors on the recommendation of ministers. Webcasting of the proceedings of the session will be done.
Later, while talking to journalists, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha said that all the preparations for the session in Gairsain have almost been completed. On a question, he said that there is definitely a challenge of rainy season, but we will face it. On being asked whether some MLAs have given any letter regarding disaster and bad roads in view of the session in Gairsain, he said that he has not received any such letter. He said that the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat is ready to hold the session anywhere, be it Gairsain or Dehradun. For this, arrangements like security, water, electricity are the same. Arrangements have to be made for accommodation and food in Gairsain, whereas this is not the case in Dehradun.
