In Uttarakhand, retired Agniveers will be given 10 percent horizontal reservation in all uniformed services of Group-C of Home Department, Forest Department, Excise Department, Transport Department and Secretariat Administration Department. They will be exempted from physical efficiency test in the process of direct recruitment. Along with this, they will be given relaxation in the maximum age limit equal to the total service period as Agniveer in the Indian Army. The government has issued orders in this regard. This rule will be considered applicable immediately.
Dhami had announced to give reservation in government services
To give relief to retired Agniveers, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to give them horizontal reservation in government services. In this sequence, it was approved in the cabinet meeting held in August. Now its order has been issued. In the rules issued by Secretary Home Shailesh Bagauli, it has been clarified that this benefit will be available only to the original and permanent residents of the state. Only those will come under its purview, who have been issued a certificate of retirement as Agniveer from the Indian Army. The District Sainik Welfare Officer will also have to confirm this in the records. With this decision of the government, about 850 Agniveers recruited in the state under the Agneepath scheme in the year 2026 will get its benefit.
Recruitment will be done on these posts
Home Department – Police Constable, Sub Inspector, Civil Police and Platoon Commander PAC in Civil Police and PAC, Fireman, Fire II Officer, Prisoner Guard and Deputy Jailor.
Forest Department – Forest Guard and Forest Inspector.
Excise Department – Excise Constable, Transport Department – Enforcement Constable
Secretariat Administration – Secretariat Guard
