Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that a Border Area Development Council will be formed to expand facilities and services in Uttarakhand’s border areas. Innovation centers will now be established in border districts, providing useful information and training related to disaster management, health, and education.
He said that the government is placing special emphasis on technical education in addition to academic knowledge to secure children’s future, and Uttarakhand has become the first state to implement the new education policy. Meanwhile, the capital, Dehradun, is set to become the country’s fifth science city, a major achievement for Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister made these remarks at the inauguration of the two-day state-level Fourth Border Mountain District Children’s Science Festival at the PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bansu, in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag. Addressing child scientists from various districts, he discussed the festival’s themes: climate change, natural water resources and conservation, disaster management, science and technology, and energy conservation. Said that this event will provide new direction and opportunities to talented child scientists from border districts. Said that today the country is touching new heights in the field of innovation, research and self-reliance. Therefore, the government is focusing special attention on sustainable development and scientific empowerment of border areas by incorporating science, technology and innovation in everyday life.
Said that along with promoting technology and AI in the state, smart classes, robotics and innovation labs have been established to connect students with future technology. Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal also expressed her views on this occasion.
