The government has made a major change in the police department. IPS Sunil Kumar Meena has been assigned the responsibility of Inspector General of Police, Crime, Law and Order, and GRP. Abhinav Kumar, who had long been out of the mainstream as Additional Director General of Prisons, has been given the responsibility of Additional Director General of Police, Intelligence and Security. Lokeshwar Singh, who resigned from his post as SSP Pauri, has been transferred to the post of Superintendent of Police, Headquarters. According to an order issued by Additional Secretary of the Home Department, Apoorva Pandey, on Monday, senior IPS officer Dr. PVK Prasad has been relieved of his duties as Director of Prosecution. He will continue to oversee the General Inspectorate of Home Guards and Civil Security. Additional Director General of Police Amit Kumar Sinha has been stripped of his duties as Director of Forensic Science Laboratory. He will continue in his role as Special Principal Secretary, Sports. Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police AP Anshuman has been assigned the responsibility of Director of Prosecution. Inspector General of Police Vimmi Sachdeva has been relieved of the responsibility of Inspector General of Police, Human Rights. Inspector General of Police Nilesh Anand Bharne has been appointed Director of Forensic Science Laboratory and Inspector General of Police, Cyber, STF, and ANTF. Anant Shankar Takwale has been appointed Inspector General of Police, Human Rights. Meanwhile, Prahlad Narayan Mishra, SSP Nainital, has been appointed Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Headquarters, and Yashwant Singh, Commander, 31st Battalion PAC. Sarita Dobhal, Superintendent of Police, Uttarkashi, has been appointed Superintendent of Police, Intelligence Headquarters.
Eight PPS Officers have also been transferred.
The government has appointed PPS Prakash Chandra as Deputy Principal, PTC, Narendra Nagar, Manoj Kumar Katyal as Additional Superintendent of Police, Haldwani, and Renu Lohani as Deputy Commander, IRB II. At the same time, Swapan Kishore Singh has been given the responsibility of Additional Superintendent of Police, Kashipur, Manish Joshi as Deputy Commander of 40th Battalion, Abhay Kumar Singh as Additional Superintendent of Police, Kashipur, Kamla Bisht as Additional Superintendent of Police, Vigilance, Nainital and Pankaj Gairola as Additional Superintendent of Police, Vikasnagar.
