To make the functioning of Vigilance more effective, a team of surveillance, technical and financial experts will be formed. This will also increase the quality of investigations in the coming time. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami among the police officers at the Vigilance Headquarters. The Chief Minister had reached there to inaugurate the Vigilance Awareness Week organized on the prosperity of the nation with the culture of integrity. The Chief Minister also honored the employees doing commendable work in the Vigilance Headquarters by giving them certificates. Remembering Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he said that Vigilance Awareness Week is celebrated every year on his birth anniversary to make public administration transparent and accountable. To fulfill the purpose for which this week is being celebrated, everyone should take an oath to work with transparency.
Need to work with utmost transparency
Vigilance Public Awareness Week and Training Camp will prove to be helpful in making the public aware of their rights and making public administration transparent and accountable. He further said that to develop a culture of integrity, everyone needs to work with truth, honesty, ethics and transparency.
He also asked to give preference to expert officers in vigilance. On this occasion, Vigilance Director Dr. V Murugeshan informed that toll free number 1064 was issued in 2022. Since then 7800 complaints have been registered. The Vigilance Department has made 66 traps in the last three years. Action has been taken against 75 people in these. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, ADG Amit Sinha, ADG AP Anshuman, SP Vigilance Renu Lohani and other officers were present in the program.
