After the civic elections, green signal will be given to Uttarakhand Dharamsva and Tirthana Parishad for safe and systematic conduct of religious pilgrimage in the state. The high-level committee has prepared a draft regarding the form, formation and operation of the council and submitted it to the government. After the approval of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it can be brought in the upcoming state cabinet meeting. The draft proposal prepared regarding the formation of the council has also been presented before the Chief Minister. The high-level committee has also received suggestions from stakeholders for the formation of the council. Apart from the Chardham Yatra in the state, crores of devotees come to Uttarakhand for Hemkund Yatra, Kanwar Yatra, fairs and festivals. During the Yatra, apart from crowd management, registration, traffic management, weather and other types of challenges test the state government from time to time.
A three-tier form of the council has been prepared
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the exercise to form such a regulatory agency started, which is accountable for the systematic, safe and convenient operation of the Yatra. The high-level committee constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has prepared a three-tier form of the council. The work of formulating strategy and policy regarding the planning and management of the operation and arrangement of the pilgrimage will be done by two major committees constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dhami and Chief Secretary Radha Raturi. The work of their implementation will be done by the formation of an implementation committee under the chairmanship of Garhwal Divisional Commissioner in Garhwal and Kumaon Divisional Commissioner in Kumaon. Apart from both the committees, there will also be a permanent structure of the council. This entire proposal has been prepared. It is believed that after the end of the code of conduct for the civic elections after January 26, the proposal to form a council may be considered in the cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister can approve the formation of the council.
We have prepared the draft of the council. Its presentation has also been done. Suggestions from stakeholders have also been invited.
