
The health department of Uttarakhand is also on full alert mode after cases of corona infection (new variant JN.1) were reported in some states. After issuing the Covid guidelines two days ago, Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar has now started daily monitoring of Corona. In view of the new form of Corona, a meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Health Secretary. In which District Magistrates, Chief Medical Officers and Health Officers of all the districts joined through virtual medium. Health Secretary said that no case of corona has been reported in Uttarakhand yet.
Isolation ward ready
The isolation ward and other arrangements have been tightened in the government hospital of Doon Medical College. CMS Anurag Aggarwal of Doon Hospital said that we do not need to panic. The only requirement at the moment is to get tested immediately as soon as flu is detected. He said that we will increase testing for new variants and will also keep updating the number of patients on the portal. Doon Hospital’s CMS Anurag Aggarwal said that a 20-bed oxygen ward has been prepared for Covid-19 and a 9-bed ICU ward has also been reserved for Covid. The new variant is not much different from the previous variant, but people suffering from cancer, sugar, kidney and heart have been advised to be more careful with this variant.
Arrangements in hospitals are tight
Along with detailed guidelines regarding the new variants of Corona, instructions have been issued to keep all the arrangements in hospitals in order. The health department is fully prepared to deal with every situation. Appealing to the general public, he said that everyone should follow the Corona guidelines. Sampling is being done in all the hospitals of the state. Suspicious patients are being monitored.
Covid patients are being examined
Regarding Covid, he directed the officials that Covid should be tested through RTPCR. Genome sequencing of all Covid positive samples must also be done. Conduct public awareness campaigns by continuously monitoring Covid patients. Also, it should be ensured that there is no shortage of medical facilities in any health units. He also stressed on daily monitoring of Covid.
Instructions received from Government of India are being followed
The Health Secretary said that the guidelines received from the Government of India regarding the new variant JN.1 should also be followed. He directed all the District Magistrates not to allow misconceptions related to Covid to increase among the general public and to follow only the official information issued by the Health Department.
