
Along with the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga corridor, the Baba Neeb Karauri temple area at Kainchidham in Nainital district will also be developed. Besides, beautification of ghats of Sharda River will also be done under Sharda Corridor in Champawat district. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) will soon prepare its action plan.

Religious tourism is the backbone of the economy of Uttarakhand. With the help of the Centre, the work of planned development and beautification of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams is going on. Now preparations are being made to attract tourists and devotees by arranging various religious tourist places in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed the need to develop Uttarakhand as a special spiritual zone. The Dhami government is working on a plan to develop various corridors with a view to expanding religious tourism. Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga corridor will now be developed in an integrated manner like Ayodhya. The work of this corridor has been entrusted to UIIDB. UIIDB will also develop other religious places. An action plan will be prepared keeping in mind the famous Kainchidham in Nainital district. A large number of devotees from India and abroad are coming to Kainchidham. Celebrities are also included in these. In such a situation, this area will be developed from the point of view of connectivity. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this responsibility will also be taken over by UIIDB.
The ghats of Sharda River in Champawat district will be well maintained and beautified. UIIDB will also look after the work of Sharda Corridor. The Board will work in coordination with the concerned departments for these ambitious projects, and possibilities of private capital investment will also be explored for them. The state has limited resources. Many important projects are going on with the development of Chardham with the cooperation of the Central Government. In such a situation, special attention is also being given to encouraging projects in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. UIIDB has been formed for this very purpose. Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu said that the Chief Minister has also entrusted the work of development of Kainchidham and Sharda Corridor projects to UIIDB. The action plan for these projects will be prepared soon.
