Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that about 7500 crore direct investment and 20 thousand employment opportunities will be received in Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor to be developed on one thousand acres under Kichha tehsil. He said that a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) has been formed by the State Government for this project. Along with this, action has been taken for environmental permission, shareholder agreement, state support agreement, ground water permission and approval of the map by CIDA.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday participated virtually in the second meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He said that after the completion of all the works, the government is in a position to start this project.
The State Government has made the land available to SIDCUL for leasing out to the SPV. DPR has been prepared from UPCL and Irrigation Department for infrastructure works. All the infrastructure works will be completed in a time-bound manner after getting the SPV’s share, i.e. 410 crores, from the Government of India. He requested the Central Government to give share of SPV as well as to expand the Industrial Promotion Scheme in view of the geographical conditions of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working on a project to make this project an economic center of about three thousand acres of green field city. In this area, the work of making satellite center of AIIMS, Kichha Degree College, bus stand has also started and the work of first phase of road widening has been completed. Pantnagar airport is 15 minutes away from here, the plan to make it an international airport is in the final stage. The government is working on the all-round development of the area in a planned manner.
The meeting was attended by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Ministers of various states and Chairperson of NITI Aayog Suman Berry and other officials.
