The government has started finalizing the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. The government is also taking steps to conduct the Yatra in a controlled manner.
In this episode, like last year, this time also registration has been made mandatory for the passengers. The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council was doing homework for the last several days so that the passengers do not face any kind of problem in registration.
After completion of all the arrangements, it has now been decided to start the registration from 21st February. The tourism department has advised the pilgrims coming for the Chardham Yatra to undergo a health test before the yatra.
Along with this, it has been suggested to travel slowly in the camps and halts on the yatra route, so that the passengers coming from hot areas can adapt themselves to the climate here.

Passengers can register on the website issued by the Department of Tourism for travel.
For this, along with uploading documents related to their identity and address, they will have to enter their correct mobile number.
Registration can be done by typing yatra on WhatsApp number.
Also toll free numbers can be used to register over the phone.
Registration can also be done by downloading the app released by the department on mobile.
Registration of vehicles: Pilgrims coming on Chardham Yatra have also been asked to register their vehicles. For this the website greencard.uk.gov.in has been issued. VLTS (Vehicle Location Tracking System) is being implemented on commercial vehicles. Now it is being made mandatory to install it in vehicles.
The purpose is that along with the speed of the vehicles going to Chardham, their exact location can be monitored. For this, a control room has also been set up at the Transport Headquarters. Joint Transport Commissioner SK Singh said that now VLTS system has been implemented in old vehicles also.
