Every vote is important in the festival of democracy. One candidate’s fortunes improve with just one vote, while others have to remain heartbroken. Keeping all this in mind, political parties have also been keeping all the equations in mind in the elections. For the Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand, political parties and candidates have also kept small groups at the center. In this sequence, BJP has focused special attention on reaching out to the tribes living in the state and gaining their support. If we look at the population, the population of tribes in the state is around three lakhs, but BJP is trying to reach every tribal family. Party workers have also started knocking for this.

BJP workers are visiting tribal dominated villages and areas and giving information about the steps taken by the Central and State Government for their upliftment. During this period, special mention is being made of the Centre’s Prime Minister’s Tribal and Adivasi Mahabhiyan (PM-Jan Mana) for the upliftment of extremely backward tribes.
Government’s attention went to these five tribes
In the year 1967, the Central Government had notified the Boxa, Raji, Tharu, Bhotia and Jaunsari castes residing in Uttarakhand as Scheduled Tribes. Among the five tribes, Boxa and Raji are more backward than others. Some time ago, the attention of the Central Government turned towards such tribes, which have a unique identity and their population is decreasing. In the PM-Janman campaign launched for this, special emphasis was laid on providing benefits to the vulnerable tribal groups from various schemes.
BJP engaged in helping the tribes
The focus was on development of basic facilities in the villages of tribal groups, education and livelihood development of tribal families. In the first phase of PM-Janman, 211 villages of extremely backward tribes of the state, Boxa and Raji, have been included. Apart from this, the state government has started various schemes for other tribal dominated areas. In view of all this, BJP has assigned responsibilities to the workers to reach out to the families of tribal groups.

According to BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, the party is reaching out to every voter in the state. The process of communication with the beneficiaries of various schemes of the Central and State Government has been intensified. This process has been intensified in tribal dominated areas and villages also. He said that a large number of people from tribal groups are also benefiting from various schemes. Naturally the party will benefit from this in the elections.
