BJP has announced its candidates for the by-elections of Badrinath assembly seat of Chamoli district and Mangalore assembly seat of Haridwar district. Former MLA Rajendra Singh Bhandari from Badrinath seat and Kartar Singh Bhadana from Mangalore have been made candidates. The party had sent the panel of contenders to the central leadership on Thursday itself and the candidates were also announced late night.
Five names sent including former MLA Rajendra Singh Bhandari
BJP had deployed observers for the by-elections to be held in Badrinath and Mangalore. Five names were sent in the panel of Badrinath, including Rajendra Singh Bhandari, who was an MLA from this seat. At the same time, 11 names including former MLA Swami Yatishwaranand, Kartar Singh Bhadana and Dinesh Panwar were included in the panel of Mangalore. In Badrinath assembly constituency, party observers Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Bharat Singh Chaudhary prepared a ground report by discussing with senior workers along with election in-charge Vinod Kaparvan. For the Mangalore assembly seat, MLA Khajan Das and state general secretary Aditya Kothari prepared a report with election in-charge Ajit Chaudhary and submitted it to state president Mahendra Bhatt. Names of the contenders were included in both these reports on the basis of ground reports. State president Mahendra Bhatt sent a panel of names to the central leadership after a detailed review.
