Uncomfortable with the war of words that broke out between some party leaders in Tehri and Ranikhet, the state BJP has given strict advice to two MLAs, an office-bearer, a former minister and a provincial executive member. Party state president Mahendra Bhatt called all of them to Dehradun and held separate meetings with them to know their views. Also asked everyone to stay within the ambit of discipline. According to Bhatt, everyone accepted that there was some misunderstanding, which would not be repeated in future. The war of words that broke out between Ranikhet BJP MLA Pramod Nainwal and state government official Kailash Pant over an incident of assault had made headlines for the last several days. Here, in Tehri, there was a fight going on between party MLA Kishore Upadhyay and former minister Dinesh Dhanai, who joined BJP before the Lok Sabha elections, regarding contracts in THDC. Not only this, the post made by the party provincial executive member from Tehri, Khem Singh Chauhan, on the internet media had become a topic of discussion.
The opposition became active immediately
In such a situation, the opposition did not waste any time in seizing the issue of war-fighting among the BJP leaders and raised questions about the internal democracy of the BJP. Uncomfortable with this, BJP took the statements of its leaders seriously and called all five leaders including the two MLAs to Dehradun to present their side. On Sunday, State President Mahendra Bhatt held separate meetings with all of them in the state BJP office. Everyone presented their side before the state president. Later, while talking to journalists, BJP State President Bhatt said that the unnecessary discussion going on in the media regarding these matters has come to an end. He told that during the conversation everyone accepted that the issues were small, but due to misunderstanding they came to the fore in the media. Everyone agreed that these could have been resolved by sitting together. Now after discussion these topics have ended.
He said that the five leaders have been given permission to put their issues on the party platform. Everyone has to discharge their responsibilities within the ambit of discipline. Whether a person is new or old in the party organization, everyone has to express their views within the party rules while avoiding any kind of public statement. He said that discipline instructions are for every worker, which we all have to follow.
