Bulldozer will run in Joshimath today, protest intensifies with demand for compensation

The situation in Joshimath of Uttarakhand is becoming worrying. Due to landslides, houses and hotels are being razed to the ground amid cracks. Snowfall on the higher hills:
Snowfall has started on the high hills including Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham in Uttarkashi. It is partly cloudy in the district headquarters and surrounding areas.

CM Dhami gave one month’s salary to the relief fund:
In view of the disaster in Joshimath, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has decided to donate one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Chief Minister said that the government is making all possible efforts to save Joshimath and for proper rehabilitation of the disaster affected people. The Central Government is also giving full cooperation to deal with this disaster. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to come forward with full determination to share the pain and suffering of the affected people in this hour of disaster. On the other hand, Deepak Joshi, president of the Secretariat Association, said that one day’s salary of the officers and employees of all cadres of the Secretariat would be given to the Disaster Relief Fund.

The weather took a turn in Joshimath:
Before the Budojar action in Joshimath, the weather has taken a turn, where there is snowfall on the hills, rain alert has been issued till January 14.

The owner of Hotel Malari and his family sat on a dharna:
As soon as the process of demolishing the endangered Hotel Malari started, the hotel owner and his family sat on a dharna in front of the hotel, demanding compensation.
