The government is sure to tighten its grip on the purchase and sale of land in violation of land law in the state. Action to vest such land in the government can be started soon. All the districts are now on alert mode. On the other hand, Haridwar and Nainital districts have also submitted their report to the Revenue Council regarding the violation of land law. On Thursday, the updated report of all the districts along with both the districts can be submitted to the government.
CM Dhami had adopted a tough stand
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had taken a tough stand on the complaints of arbitrariness and violation of land law in the purchase and sale of land in the state. On his instructions, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi had asked all the districts to submit the report within a week last month. The Chief Secretary had held a virtual meeting with all the District Magistrates last Monday. It was told in the meeting that the government received the report of 11 out of 13 districts. Cases of violation of land laws have come to light in nine districts Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar. In some of these cases, action was taken by recommending a suit at the district level.
No cases of misuse of law have come to light in these two districts
No case of misuse of law has come to light in the purchase and sale of land in two districts Rudraprayag and Champawat. The Chief Secretary has directed the District Magistrates to register a case under Section 166/167 of the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Destruction and Land Reforms Act, 1950) (Adaptation and Conversion Order, 2001) Act. The Chief Secretary had directed two districts Haridwar and Nainital to submit a report within 24 hours. Both the districts Haridwar and Nainital have submitted the report to the Revenue Board. Cases of violation of land laws have been found in both the districts. Revenue Board Chairman Anand Bardhan confirmed receipt of the report. In their reports, the districts have informed about sending notices on some cases of violation of land laws. There may be more than 140 such cases. It was told that on Thursday, the Revenue Board may submit an updated report to the government regarding violation of land laws from two districts Haridwar and Nainital along with other districts.
