Amidst the New Year celebrations (Thirty First and New Year Night), the Transport Department has prepared to take action against those driving at unbridled speed, creating ruckus and driving under the influence of alcohol. RTO Enforcement Shailesh Tiwari has given instructions to deploy eight teams for Doon city, Mussoorie, Haridwar and Roorkee. The RTO made it clear that if transport rules are violated, the accused driver will not be able to drive for a year. The transport department will suspend his driving license. Action will be taken against unruly speed with interceptor vehicles and radar guns. RTO Shailesh Tiwari said that the teams have been ordered to check the fixed routes from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Checking campaign will be conducted
The checking campaign will be conducted under the direction of ARTO Enforcement Administration in Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh. RTO instructed to test the drivers with alcometer and take legal action against those doing zig-zag and rash driving.

RTO has appealed to the drivers not to drive under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicant. If you are going to a party, then take a driver with you or book a vehicle, provided the driver does not consume intoxicants. RTO said that the drivers responsible for the accident will be issued a challan of Rs 10,000 or a case will be registered against them, which has a provision of three months in jail.
