Chief Minister Dhami gave instructions to the officers, plans should be made keeping in mind the interests of the farmers.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during the review meeting of the Irrigation Department at the Secretariat, directed the officers to make plans keeping in mind the interests of the farmers. A committee should be constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officers in the districts. In which the officers of Agriculture and Horticulture Department should also be there. Irrigation and Minor Irrigation Department should work in coordination with Agriculture and Horticulture Department. The Chief Minister said that all the departments have been instructed to prepare a roadmap for the next 10 years and what work can be done on the ground as a best practice by 2025. He said that the Irrigation Department needs special attention in hilly areas. Horticulture needs more attention to increase the livelihood of the people in the hilly areas. In order to double the GDP of the state in 5 years, all the departments will have to work fast.
The Chief Minister directed the officers that Saung and Jamrani multipurpose projects are important projects for the state from the point of view of drinking water and irrigation. He said that the work related to the approval of the remaining of the Saung Dam drinking water project should be completed soon. He directed the officers of the Irrigation Department to ensure that projects are not delayed, if there is any problem, then such cases should be brought to the higher level. He directed the officers that the construction work of Kolidhek, Tharkot lake and Gagas reservoir should be completed soon. He said that it should be ensured that the period for completion of the scheme which has been fixed, it should be completed within that period. The Chief Minister directed that sprinkler based irrigation should be done on pilot basis in every village at the block level.
The Chief Minister directed the officers of the Irrigation Department to prepare a drainage plan for the urban areas of the state at the earliest. Special attention should be paid towards water conservation and water conservation. More effective efforts are needed to increase the capacity of reservoirs. The Chief Minister said that when the next meeting of the Irrigation Department will be held, it should be decided today itself. All the departments should ensure that whatever decisions are taken in the meeting and the progress of the targets being given is presented in the next meeting.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Anand Bardhan, Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagoli, H.C. Semwal, S.N. Pandey, Additional Secretary Lalit Mohan Rayal, Irrigation Department head Mukesh Mohan and departmental officers were present.
