Chief Minister’s visit to Delhi stirred up political corridors, speculation of cabinet reshuffle intensified

admin September 21, 2022

In view of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s visit to Delhi, speculations of a cabinet reshuffle started once again in the political circles. The Chief Minister reached Delhi on Monday on a three-day visit. On Tuesday, he met several party leaders at the BJP headquarters.
Chief Minister Dhami is to attend a meeting on Wednesday in connection with the Kisau Dam project in the Ministry of Jal Shakti. On Tuesday, he met many leaders including BJP national media in-charge and Rajya Sabha member Anil Baluni at the party headquarters.
There are currently three vacancies in the cabinet:
However, due to the National President JP Nadda and National General Secretary Organization BL Santosh being out of Delhi, they could not meet him. With the Chief Minister being in Delhi for three days, it is believed that he will apprise the central leadership about the latest political developments, including the ongoing controversy over appointments in various departments in Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, there were speculations in the internet media that the Chief Minister can also discuss with the central leadership regarding the reshuffle in the cabinet. There are currently three vacancies in the cabinet. Apart from this, the discussion of changing two-three ministers is going on for the last few days due to the assessment of the performance of the ministers and the appointment dispute during the tenure of six months.
Although Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself has recently ruled out the possibility of cabinet expansion or reshuffle. In a conversation with the media, he had said that the efforts to expand the organization are going on and at present, the entire focus of the party is on this.
On the other hand, it is also believed that the Dhami government is going to complete the six-month term on September 23. On this occasion, the Chief Minister can give the gift of responsibility to the BJP leaders on the posts of Chairman and Vice President in various corporations, authorities and commissions. He can also discuss this with the central leaders of the party.

Dhami to attend high level meeting on Kisau Dam today
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will participate in the meeting to be held at the Ministry of Jal Shakti in Delhi on Wednesday. This high level meeting has been called to discuss the Kisau Dam. Chief Minister Dhami can also raise the issue of starting 10 other hydroelectric projects pending in the state.
Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Shekhawat and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will also attend the high level meeting. Both the states will jointly build the project on the Tons river on the border of Uttarakhand and Himachal. With the construction of this dam, apart from these two states, water will be supplied to Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

1379 MU of electricity will be produced:
The 660 MW Kisau Hydroelectric Project has been declared a National Project. For this 90 percent assistance will be given from the center. There is a possibility of increasing power generation in the downstream projects of this project costing about 12 thousand crores.
The dam will generate 1379 million units of electricity. Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi will get 93 percent of the water storage under the agreement. Uttarakhand and Himachal will get three percent each.

Six thousand residents of 17 villages will be displaced:
The construction of the dam in Kisau project will affect 2950 hectares of land in both the states. More than six thousand residents of 17 villages will be displaced.
According to highly placed sources, the Chief Minister can demand to start 10 projects on which there is no dispute during the meeting. The Expert Committee and the Ministry of Jal Shakti have already given in-principle approval to these projects. Uttarakhand has also filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on the basis of the recommendations of the expert committee.

Here are the 10 projects:
Lata Tapovan on Dhauliganga, Bhundar Ganga, Khairogang, Alaknanda, Kotlibhel Forest-I and One-B on Bhyundar Ganga, Tamaklata, Jhalkoti, Urgam-two and Jelam Tamak on Dhauliganga.
