CM Pushkar Singh Dhami called 21-year-old newly elected village head Priyanka Negi of Gairsain in Chamoli and congratulated her on her victory. CM said that we will work together for the development of the village. Congratulating all the people of Sarkot, he said that the villagers of Sarkot fought a good election. Gairsain has been selected as the model village of the state. Said that the high officials of the district will soon inspect the village. He asked the newly elected village head Priyanka Negi to take forward the development works going on in the village. Also said that the women of the village should be taken forward. They should be linked to self-employment. He also invited Priyanka Negi to Dehradun.
Priyanka Negi got 421 votes
Now the youngest girl Priyanka Negi will take over the command of the Chief Minister’s Adarsh Gaon Sarkot of Gairsain block. 21-year-old Priyanka Negi has been elected to the post of Pradhan. He won by defeating his rival Priyanka Devi. Priyanka Negi got 421 votes and Priyanka Devi got 235 votes. Earlier, Priyanka’s father has also been the Pradhan from 2014-19. Priyanka Negi has graduated in Political Science from Gairsain College, the result of which also came three days ago. More than 300 families currently live in Sarkot, one of the largest villages in Chamoli district, Chief Minister Adarsh Gaon. Due to no migration from the village, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had declared Sarkot village in Bhararisain as an ideal village. Since then CM Dhami is serious about Sarkot village. Many development works are being done in the village on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Now the newly elected Gram Pradhan Priyanka Negi will take over the command of this village. Priyanka said that she will work to take forward the development work being done by the Chief Minister. Making the women of the village aware will be a priority so that they can move forward in every field. Priyanka Negi’s father, former head Raje Singh Negi, said that he will make every possible effort for the development of his daughter in the village.
