Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday disposed of government files from the temporary camp office set up in Matali (Uttarakashi) and reviewed the Silkyara rescue operation. Let us tell you that the Chief Minister has been staying in Matali since Wednesday to ensure the safety of the workers trapped in the tunnel. In order to ensure that government work is not disrupted, the temporary camp office of CM is being operated from Matali itself. On Friday, the Chief Minister looked at the important government files and disposed of them. He also gave necessary directions to the officials from Matali. In the evening, the Chief Minister reached Silkyara and inspected the rescue operation going on there and talked to the team engaged in the operation and took necessary information.
At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took information from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami regarding the obstruction in Operation Silkyara to rescue the workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel at Silkyara. The CM told them that the work was hampered due to steel items coming in front of the auger machine, which was being rectified.
Like every day, on Friday also the Prime Minister took updates from the Chief Minister over phone about the 41 workers and their families trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel. The Chief Minister told him that this tunnel is being constructed using the New Austrian Tunnel Method. The auger machine has suffered some damage due to steel objects being encountered in the tunnel. It is being fixed.
Due to this the operation has been stopped for some time. The Prime Minister took information from the CM about the condition of the workers trapped inside the tunnel and the food and daily routine items provided to them. Also asked about the condition of the workers engaged in relief and rescue work and the security measures being taken for them.
He instructed that there should be no shortage of any kind in it. He asked for coordination among various agencies along with the progress of rescue work and the work being done. CM said, along with ground level monitoring of relief and rescue operations going on in Silkyara Tunnel, a temporary Chief Minister Camp Office has been established in Matali, Uttarkashi itself. This will enable better monitoring of the entire operation.
Alternative lifeline created
The Chief Minister told the PM, after successfully laying the six-inch diameter pipeline, an alternative lifeline has been created. Through which freshly cooked food, fruits, dry fruits, milk, juice as well as disposable plates, brushes, towels, small clothes, tooth paste, soap etc. daily needs are being sent packed in bottles to the workers trapped in the tunnel. . Through this pipeline, regular communication is being held with the workers through the communication setup of SDRF. Workers and their family members are also being held talks.
41 special beds ready in the nearest hospital
CM said, the doctors posted in the temporary hospital established in Silkyara are continuously monitoring the health of the workers. From ambulances to the nearest hospital, 41 special beds have been prepared for the workers. Psychiatrists are also regularly counseling the workers trapped in the tunnel.
Safety canopy and escape tunnel also made
The Chief Minister said, special attention is also being paid to the safety of workers engaged in relief and rescue operations. Safety canopy and escape tunnel have been made at the rescue site through pre-cast RCC box culvert and hume pipe. This will ensure safe evacuation of people engaged in rescue inside the tunnel in case of any emergency. Special attention is also being paid to other special instructions related to security.
