Now the data of accidents will also be collected on the basis of roads to find out the concrete reasons for road accidents in the state. It will be seen which types of routes are causing the most accidents. After this, the concerned departments will be directed to repair these routes. Not only in the state, at present the figures of road accidents are continuously increasing in the entire country. What has come to light in the data collected by the Union Transport Ministry is that most road accidents are happening on national highways. In such a situation, steps are being taken towards making the national highways more safe.
CM Dhami raised the topic of road accidents in the meeting
The topic of road accidents also came up in the recent meeting of the State Level Road Safety Committee chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It was told in the meeting that the data of accidents in the state is kept district wise. On this, the Chief Minister directed that the data of accidents should be kept highway wise, so that it can be known on which type of highway most road accidents are happening in Uttarakhand. National Highways constitute approximately 25 percent of the total routes in the state. In such a situation, if more accidents are seen on national highways here too, then an action plan to curb accidents will be made in a similar manner.
CM gave instructions to transport department to collect data
If the number of road accidents turns out to be high in state level highways, then its reasons will be studied and steps will be taken to stop the accidents. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, now the Transport Department will collect highway-wise data.
