The Assembly Secretariat has finalized its preparations for the Assembly session starting from Monday. It has become special because of the introduction of an important bill for the country and the state like Uniform Civil Code. That is why it is also being called a special session.
The agenda for the first day of the session was decided in the meeting. On Monday, apart from late Sarwat Karim Ansari, who was MLA from Mangalore seat, tribute will be paid to other deceased former MLAs. On the other hand, both the ruling party and the opposition have prepared arrows in their quiver for the session. The period for the assembly session has been fixed from February 5 to 8. In view of the session, a meeting of all party leaders was held in the auditorium of the Assembly building on Sunday under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri. The Assembly Speaker expected cooperation from party leaders in conducting the session in an orderly and cordial environment. On behalf of the opposition, he talked about cooperation on issues related to the interest of the state and its people.

Thereafter, the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly was also held under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Khanduri. In this the agenda of the first day was decided. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, who attended the meeting as Parliamentary Affairs Minister, informed about the decision of receiving the draft of Uniform Civil Code from the government and presenting the bill related to it in the House. Apart from Cabinet Minister Uniyal, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, Congress MLA Pritam Singh, BSP MLA Mohammad Shahzad, BJP MLA Khazandas were present in the meetings.
