CM Dhami has handled more than 40 percent of the cabinet’s load, expansion will happen after panchayat elections

admin June 19, 2025

More than 40 percent of the state cabinet’s load is on the shoulders of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He has 35 departments. Less than two years are left for the next assembly elections. In such a situation, the wait is not ending as to when the five vacant seats of the cabinet will be filled. Behind this, the role of vacant posts of ministers in balancing the election of the state BJP president and important posts in the organization is also being seen. From Chief Minister Dhami to the party high command, they may not be revealing the cards in this regard, but after the panchayat elections, the picture may be seen getting clear soon. The number of vacant posts in the Dhami cabinet has increased from three to five. The number of members of the state cabinet should be 12. When Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath in March 2022, three ministerial posts were kept vacant in the cabinet. With the death of Cabinet Minister Chandan Ram Das, this number of vacant posts increased to four. After the resignation of Cabinet Minister Premchand Agarwal in March last month, this number increased to five. The Chief Minister is handling the cabinet with seven ministers. The government and the ruling party have to go to the assembly elections in less than two years. Panchayat elections are to be held before this. Before the assembly elections, this is the biggest political event related to voters and voting. In the Panchayat elections, rural voters are the largest voter group in the state. These elections will prove how strong the hold of political parties is on the three-tier panchayats. However, like the municipal elections, the ruling party is considered to be in a relatively advantageous position in the elections of three-tier panchayats. On the occasion of this election, eyes are on the BJP high command and the Chief Minister as to whether the gamble of filling the vacant posts of the cabinet will be played to increase balance and harmony within the party or not. The state BJP president is also to be elected. A section within the party is also looking at the balance equation behind the election of the state organization president and filling the vacant posts in the cabinet.
