Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. During this, the Chief Minister requested to notify the Kathgodam-Bhimtal-Dhanachuli-Mornola-Khetikhan-Lohaghat-Pancheshwar motor road, which is of strategic importance and useful for tourists, as a national highway.
He also urged for approval of six highways of Uttarakhand after getting in-principle approval of National Highways and to give the work of Mussoorie Tunnel to Uttarakhand Public Works Department. Union Minister Gadkari said that the proposals related to road construction sent by the state government will be approved at the earliest.

On Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari at a hotel in Vyasi in Tehri district. The Union Minister is here on a personal visit. During this meeting, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami discussed with him about the construction of state and national roads.
He informed the Union Minister that the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had given in-principle consent to declare six State Highways as National Highways. These include Khairna-Ranikhet, Buakhal-Devprayag, Devprayag-Gaza-Khadi, Pandukhal-Nagchulakhal-Bajro, Biharigarh-Roshanabad and Laxmanjhula-Dugadda-Mohan-Ranikhet routes. The Chief Minister requested to notify these routes soon.
The Chief Minister said that NHAI has been made an executive body by the Central Government in the important two-lane tunnel scheme of Mussoorie to be built at a cost of two thousand crores. All the works of the first phase of this scheme are being done by PWD. In such a situation, the work of Mussoorie tunnel should also be allotted to the Public Works Department.
He requested for speedy approval of the work of Dehradun Ring Road pending at the level of the Central Government. The Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to approve the proposal for payment of Rs 12.95 crore for smoothening the roads damaged during the calamity.
