The Central Government had removed Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir on August 6, 2019. Since then, the face of Kashmir started changing and now the situation has become much better. In the last four years, new dimensions of development have been seen in Kashmir. Kashmiri youth is no longer looking for stones, but is looking for a job after getting educated. Conditions have also started becoming favorable for business. Kashmiri migrants living in Doon have also expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for upholding the decision of the Central Government. The displaced people shared their views with Dainik Jagran on the benefits to Kashmir as well as the country from this historic step.

Doon’s senior advocate Sudhir Kumar Dhar is also a displaced Kashmiri. Many years ago, when the situation in Kashmir deteriorated, he came and settled in Dehradun with his family. However, many of his acquaintances are still in Kashmir and he remains in constant touch with them. Sudhir says that after the removal of Article 370, the face of Kashmir has completely changed. Now big projects are coming on the ground in Kashmir. Kashmiris have started getting the benefits of financial assistance from the Central Government. He says that some families doing politics in Kashmir definitely suffered due to this, but the common citizen is happy.

The family of Doon resident Avtar Krishna Kaul also once lived in Kashmir, but circumstances forced them to migrate. For this reason, Avtaar’s childhood was spent in Doon, but his connection with Kashmir remained. He is also associated with Kashmiri Sabha. Avtar says that after displacement, he visited his native village in Kashmir several times, but he is happy to see the changes that have taken place after the removal of Article 370. The youth who once used to pick stones in Kashmir valley are now getting employment. He says that if there is progress and prosperity then why would anyone become a terrorist. The Central Government has put Kashmiris on their feet by removing Article 370. In the coming times we will see a new Kashmir.
Supreme Court has approved the decision of the Central Government: Dhami
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the decision of the Supreme Court regarding removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir is an approval of the decision taken by the Central Government in the interest of the country and the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The Chief Minister said that the historic work of removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir to maintain the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India, done by Union Home Minister Amit Shah under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been justified by the Supreme Court today. With this decision, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to connect with the mainstream of the country and investment will increase along with promotion of tourism in the state. Together, new doors of development will open in every area in the state.
