Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has greeted the people of the state on Igas (Budh Diwali), the main festival of folk culture of Uttarakhand. He said that Igas is an important festival based on our mythology, beliefs, respect for livestock and season. It gives us the message of love, joy and enthusiasm in life. CM Dhami said that the traditions started by our godlike ancestors give a logical message even in the scientific age today as to what kind of unbreakable connection human life should have with faith and nature.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that today, wherever Uttarakhandis reside in the entire state and in the country and abroad, they are organizing Igas with great enthusiasm. The Chief Minister said that all the expatriate Uttarakhandis he met in London, Singapore and Dubai during his recent foreign trips in connection with the Investor Conference, told that they celebrate this folk festival with great enthusiasm even in foreign countries, just like Diwali. The migrants expressed gratitude to the state government that it has been declared a state holiday.
The whole country is with the labor brothers
The Chief Minister said that Igas Parva has been organized at his official residence as per the pre-determined programme, but being the chief servant of the state, his first concern at this time is about the labor brothers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel of Uttarkashi, who need to be rescued. World class efforts are going on by the Central and State Governments. He said that very soon this operation will be completed successfully. That moment will be the real Egas for us.
