Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Uttarakhand Online RTI Portal and Online Second Appeal, Complaint and Hybrid Hearing (in which one party can appear through online medium) in the Secretariat. He said that this will be of great help to the common man and will save time in traveling to and from hearings.
Said- Residents of remote and mountainous areas will benefit
On Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a program organized at the Secretariat that the Right to Information Act makes it easier for the common man to resolve personal or community difficulties related to governance and administration. He said that the residents of remote and hilly areas of the state will benefit the most from online facilities.
Hearing will be held on hybrid mode
Along with getting the facility to make the application and first appeal online, they will also be allowed to appear in the second appeal from their own place. He expressed hope that the general public will take maximum advantage of these facilities. Chief Information Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha said that the facility of online registration of second appeals and complaints and hearing on hybrid mode will be implemented for the general public from today itself.
6735 cases were disposed of
Describing the progress of registration and disposal of received appeals and complaints, he said that in December 2023, the Commission conducted 521 hearings and disposed of a total of 299 cases. Whereas from January 2022 to December 2023, a total of 11037 hearings were held and 6735 cases were disposed of.
Apart from Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, State Information Commissioner Vivek Sharma, Vipin Chandra, Arjun Singh and Yogesh Bhatt, Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Additional Secretary Pratap Shah and Secretary Uttarakhand Information Commission Arvind Kumar Pandey were also present in the meeting.
