
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that events will be organized across the state to give international recognition to the Uttarayani fair. While celebrating the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day, there will be village chaupals in all the districts.
Chief Minister Dhami held a meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday regarding preparations for Uttarayani fair, Good Governance Day and Veer Bal Diwas on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Chief Minister said that the Uttarayani fair has special significance in the culture of Uttarakhand. This fair is related to the preservation and promotion of culture. In collaboration with the Tourism and Culture Department, grand events will be organized across the state on this festival.
Grand Aarti at Sangam sites:
The Chief Minister said that Surya Upasana festival will be celebrated on the day of Uttarayani at Panch Prayag, other Sangam places and important ghats of the state. A grand aarti will be arranged at the Sangam sites.
Schemes related to solar energy will be launched for public awareness on Uttarayani festival. There will be essay and debate competitions on solar energy and energy conservation in schools. Cultural evening will be organized in Bageshwar. There will also be a handicraft and food festival.
Ministers and people’s representatives will also participate in the chaupals:
The Chief Minister said that the birthday of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee would be celebrated as Good Governance Day. Ministers and other public representatives will also participate in village chaupals in all the districts.
He said that he himself would also participate in the Gram Chaupal. On Good Governance Day, the district administration will distribute necessary certificates to the students of classes IX to XII in all the schools of the state. The process of distribution of certificates will be completed from December 25 to February 9.
Veer Bal Diwas will be held in all schools:
Chief Minister Dhami said that on December 26, Veer Bal Diwas, there will be major events at the state level on the sacrifice day of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, sons of 10th Guru Guru Gobind Singh of Sikh community. The Chief Minister will also participate in this. Programs will also be organized at district headquarters.
Veer Bal Diwas will be celebrated in all the schools of the state. Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Sachin Kurve, HC Semwal, Vinod Kumar Suman, Director General Education Banshidhar Tiwari, Director Culture Bina Bhatt, Additional Secretary Jagdish Chandra Kandpal were present in the meeting.
