Orders have been given to send back Pakistanis who came on short term visa and medical visa as soon as possible. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Home Department has written a letter to the Police Headquarters in this regard. Earlier on Thursday, two Pakistanis living in Dehradun on short term visa were sent back. It is being told that a Pakistani is currently living in Haridwar. He will also be sent back soon. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that in the sequence of decisions taken in the CCS meeting regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir), the process of identifying Pakistani citizens in the state has been expedited. The Director General of Police has also been instructed to ensure prompt action to identify Pakistani citizens and send them back. Under the instructions of the Chief Minister, Additional Secretary Home Nivedita Kukreti has sent a letter to the Director General of Police, Additional Director General of Police Intelligence and Security along with Commissioner and Inspector General of Police Garhwal and Kumaon regarding visas issued to Pakistani citizens in the state. It has been told in the letter that the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has suspended the visa services issued to Pakistani citizens with immediate effect in view of the terrorist incident.
The Government of India has canceled all valid visas given to Pakistani citizens from April 27. Whereas, medical visas will be valid only till April 29. On the other hand, according to the information received from the police, two Pakistani citizens living in Dehradun were sent back on Thursday. While, one is living in Haridwar. He will also be sent back on Friday night or Saturday. No Pakistani is living in the state on medical visa. DGP Deepam Seth said that after the instructions of the Chief Minister, all the actions have been expedited. Continuous reports are also being taken from all the districts.
