After the intervention of Congress high command, the tussle going on within the party regarding the selection of candidate on the occasion of Kedarnath by-election came to an end. In the meeting of the State Congress Coordination Committee held on Saturday, consensus was reached on forgetting mutual differences and putting all the strength in the by-election. Senior leaders will be given responsibilities in the by-election. State co-incharge Surendra Sharma said that the party will fight the by-election unitedly. Congress will re-establish the violated tradition and dignity of Kedarnath temple.
The strategy for Kedarnath by-election and civic elections was decided in the meeting of the Coordination Committee held at the State Congress headquarters on Saturday afternoon. In the meeting, State co-incharge Surendra Sharma said that Congress will give a befitting reply to the propaganda of BJP. State Congress President Karan Mahara said that the party will become the voice of the people by raising the basic problems of the state along with local issues in the by-election. The party has completed its preparations. In-charges have been appointed from booths to mandalam and block and city units. The party will make deteriorating social harmony among the people, increasing atrocities on women, unemployment, inflation, corruption, disaster losses, uncontrollable increase in electricity rates an issue. The failure of the central and state governments will be brought to the public.
Baba Kedar will not forgive BJP for dividing the Dham: Yashpal Arya
Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that the BJP government has done the work of dividing the Kedarnath Dham, which is revered by all of us. Baba Kedar will never forgive the BJP. He said that the BJP works only for its own selfish interests. The ruling party has nothing to do with public concerns. Former state president Ganesh Godiyal said that the BJP government wants to create an environment of anarchy in the Kedarnath by-election like the by-elections of Champawat, Mangalore and Badrinath. Congress workers will strongly respond to this. Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri, former Minister Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Navprabhat and Hira Singh Bisht, MLA Vikram Negi and Mamta Rakesh, former MP Pradeep Tamta, former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola, State Congress Vice President Organization Mathura Dutt Joshi, Youth Congress President Sumittar Bhullar, NSUI State President Vikas Negi and State Seva Dal Chief Organization Hema Purohit also gave suggestions in the meeting.
Vikram Negi and Manoj Tiwari appointed in-charge for by-election
On the other hand, State Congress President Karan Mahra has appointed MLA Vikram Singh Negi and MLA Manoj Tiwari as in-charges for the by-election to be held on November 20 on the Kedarnath assembly seat. Former MLA Lalit Farswan and Jayendra Ramola have been appointed as two co-in-charges. The State President has expected the in-charges and co-in-charges to ensure the victory of the party by establishing coordination with the party leaders and workers in the Kedarnath assembly constituency.
