The demand for investigation of the gold plate in Kedarnath sanctum has again gained momentum. Uttarakhand Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat has demanded from the government to form a committee under the leadership of the sitting judge of the High Court and conduct an impartial investigation. He also warned that if immediate action is not taken on the demands, an agitation will be started. On Thursday, during a conversation with journalists at Tulsi Pratisthan on Tilak Road, Uttarakhand Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat President Suresh Semwal alleged that an impartial investigation of the gold plate in the Kedarnath sanctum sanctorum was not being done. Questions have been raised in the past on the working style of the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. Religious sentiments have been hurt since the issue of the sanctum sanctorum came to light.
The investigation should be under the supervision of the sitting judge of the High Court.
Chairman Suresh Semwal said that an impartial investigation of the case should be conducted under the supervision of the sitting judge of the High Court. Pilgrimage priests should also be included in the formed committee.
Demand for immediate action
Badrish Panda Panchayat President Praveen Dhyani said that construction work is going on in Badrinath under the master plan. There will be a big problem if the construction work in Kuber Gali is not completed on time. He alleged that the government has given permission to non-Hindu men and women to perform sadhana in Badrinath, which is against the tradition. Apart from this, ITBP has been deployed for the security of Kedarnath temple. Even after the doors are closed, the picture of the Dham is being made public. He warned that if immediate action is not taken on the demands, there will be agitation.

Char Dham winter pilgrimage will be started from Kharsali of Yamunotri under the leadership of Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj of Jyotish Peeth. The pilgrim priests have completed preparations for the yatra starting from 27th November.
