
The construction work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is going on at a fast pace. With the construction of the expressway, the journey from Dehradun to Delhi will be completed in two and a half hours. This expressway will prove effective in speeding up the economic activities of Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said these things during the inspection of the construction work. He inquired about the progress of the expressway works from the officials of the National Highways Authority of India. Along with this, the condition of the laborers engaged in the construction work was also known.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday inspected the works going on in Dehradun under the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. He also inspected the construction work of elevated road and tunnel near Datkali temple. He asked NHAI to complete the work within the stipulated time and pay special attention to the quality.
He said that whatever necessary cooperation required by NHAI will be given by the state to speed up the work related to Delhi-Dehradun Expressway in Uttarakhand. Permission has also been given for the works of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway in the night.
Said that after the construction of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, the distance from Delhi to Dehradun will be completed in just two to two and a half hours. People from Delhi and its surrounding areas will have a lot of ease in coming to Uttarakhand. He said that the speed at which road connectivity is increasing in the state. This will also accelerate economic activities in the state in the coming times.
The Chief Minister interacted with the laborers working on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway and inquired about their well-being. Told the officials of the Authority that proper arrangements should be made for the health, living and food of these workers.
NHAI officials said that a target has been set to complete the expressway works by March 2024. On this occasion, Chief Engineer Public Works Department Ayaz Ahmed, District Magistrate Sonika, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar etc. were present.
