Pushkar Singh Dhami government will once again be able to speed up the pace of development and construction works with the help of double engine. The Central Government has provided financial assistance of Rs 720 crore to the state. Out of this, an amount of Rs 125 crore has been given to urban bodies and Rs 36 crore has been given for the reforms being done in urban planning. The Center has given additional assistance to the government for the expansion of infrastructure facilities in the state. Under Part-I of the Scheme for Special Assistant to States for Capital Investment, an amount of Rs 559 crore has been approved for the financial year 2023-24. Also, the Central Government has been asked to provide a proposal in this regard. As soon as the letter from the Central Government was received, Finance Additional Secretary C Ravi Shankar on Monday issued a letter to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries seeking proposals from the departments. Proposals have been invited for such new and ongoing capital works costing Rs 5 crore or more, in which it is possible to grant utilization certificate by March 31, 2024.
Instructions have also been given to provide proposals for the funds sanctioned under parts three and four of this scheme. Under the Scheme for Special Assistant to States for Capital Investment Part-3, an amount of Rs 27 crore has been approved for the development of infrastructure at the Center Institute for Chemical and Petrochemical Technology, Doiwala and an amount of Rs 9 crore has been approved for the construction of Shaurya Sthal. Under Part-Four of the scheme, an amount of Rs 125 crore has been approved for 12 schemes related to capital works in the state. With this financial assistance from the Centre, the Dhami government will be able to complete its development plans on time. They will not have to face financial crisis.
