The Dhami government can distribute responsibilities after the body elections. The chair of the chairman of the Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission and the Women’s Commission has become vacant. The three-year term of the chairpersons of both the commissions has ended this week. Along with these commissions, the tenure of the chairman of the Sri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee also ended. At the same time, the chair of the chairman of the Uttarakhand Minority Commission in the state is vacant for the last one year. The government had appointed Dr. Geeta Khanna as the chairperson in the Uttarakhand Child Rights Protection Commission.
Chairs of two vice-chairpersons are also vacant
On January 6, 2022, along with making him the chairman, six members were nominated in the commission. Along with the chairperson of the commission, the tenure of these six members has also ended. On this day, Kusum Kandwal was nominated as the chairman in the State Women’s Commission and Ajendra Ajay in the Sri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. Along with the chairman of the Child Rights Protection Commission, the tenure of the chairman of the State Women’s Commission and the Sri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee has also ended. At the same time, the chair of the chairman in the Uttarakhand Minority Commission is vacant since December 2023. Apart from the chairman, the chair of two vice-chairmen is also vacant in the commission. The tenure of Vice-Chairman Sardar Iqbal Singh in the Minority Commission ended in April 2024 and Vice-Chairman Mazhar Naeem Nawab in September 2024. The election code of conduct is currently in place due to the civic elections in the state. After the end of the code of conduct, others may get the responsibility on the post of chairman of many commissions and Sri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee.
