In view of the ongoing tension with Pakistan, Uttarakhand Energy Corporation has also issued a high alert. By calling an emergency meeting on Thursday, the management discussed making strong arrangements for uninterrupted supply. Instructions have been given to remain alert regarding power supply especially in hospitals and defense institutions. Also, leave of all personnel has been banned. All personnel have been instructed not to leave their respective offices.
At the same time, all power houses are being inspected and arrangements for additional equipment are being made. On Thursday, Managing Director Anil Kumar held a meeting with regional chief engineers, superintending engineers and executive engineers through video conferencing. In which the Managing Director issued a high alert to all regional officers and instructed them to discharge their responsibilities by being present in their respective headquarters.
Arrangements for backup supply will be ensured
He asked to make regular coordination with the District Authority / District Headquarters and follow their instructions on priority basis. All regional officers will monitor the power supply of emergency places, hospitals, defense institutions etc. on a daily basis and will also ensure the arrangement of backup supply. For emergency situations, arrangements of conductors, cables, poles, transformers etc. should also be ensured at all places. So that in case of power disruption, power supply can be restored in minimum time period.
The Managing Director directed all the Chief Engineers to also nominate a nodal officer for restoration of power supply in emergency situations, who will regularly contact the headquarters emergency control room. The Managing Director also directed the IT team to prepare an SOP to deal with any type of cyber attack. All Energy Corporation officers / employees will immediately inform the IT team on receiving information about any type of suspicious email and message. Apart from this, the Managing Director has also asked to maintain special vigilance on the Char Dham Yatra routes.
