Terming it as harassment, the personnel have expressed anger against the corporation headquarters. Accusing the headquarters of mental harassment by taking one-sided action, the personnel are preparing to open a front. Apart from this, they have also raised questions on the working style of the senior officers of the headquarters. Uttarakhand Diploma Engineers Association Drinking Water Corporation has written a letter to the Chief Engineer and Managing Director and lodged a strong objection. At the same time, Officer Employee Coordination Committee Drinking Water Corporation Uttarkashi has also accused of harassment. Diploma Engineers Association recently held a meeting and raised questions on the attitude of the headquarters. Expressing strong anger on behalf of the officials, it was said that at present, due to the excess and diversity of work, despite working more than the prescribed time, the targets are not being achieved.
The main reason for this is that the targets are being set in such a way that their fulfillment is not possible. While it is noteworthy that a lot of work has been done at present as compared to the past several years. Despite this, unnecessary pressure is being exerted on engineers by doing negative publicity of the works of the Central Government projects from Jal Jeevan Mission to Namami Gange etc. It was alleged that the engineers are being threatened with action and consequences from the headquarters. If any punitive action is taken against any engineer without investigation and solid evidence, then a massive movement will be organized by the union. For which the headquarters officers will be responsible.
Uttarkashi personnel vocal about action on advance payment
Protest has also started against the action being taken against the personnel posted in the projects of Uttarkashi regarding advance payment. The personnel have accused the headquarters of harassment and expressed anger over unnecessary action. They have also raised questions on the publication of information about confidential action from the headquarters level in newspapers. Officer Employee Coordination Committee Drinking Water Corporation Uttarkashi called it a work full of bias in relation to the branch. To complete important works like Jal Jeevan Mission on time and to get the work done on war footing, the branch gave money to the contractors for the material to speed up the works, most of which has been adjusted from the dues and the remaining amount will be adjusted after the limit is released from the State Water and Sanitation Mission Dehradun office. Whereas, huge amounts of money were given to the contractors by the headquarters officials themselves for the works done earlier in Chamoli, Rudraprayag etc. districts.
