After the instructions of the Director of Secondary Education, Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, teachers recited the verses of the Gita to the children during the prayer assembly in schools of Dehradun, Haridwar, Pithoragarh etc. districts. They explained its meaning to the children and informed them about the scientific point of view, but no written order was received in this regard in Tehri district. This was the reason that the verses of the Gita were not recited in the prayer assembly in some schools. Manjeet Singh, a teacher of Government Inter College Nagni, said that he has verbal information about reciting the verses of the Gita to the students and telling them its meaning during the prayer assembly, but the school has not received any written order yet. On receiving the order in this regard, it will be followed. However, District Education Officer VP Singh says that instructions were issued to all schools in this regard. All Chief Education Officers have been instructed to recite verses from the Gita to children during prayer meetings and explain its meaning.
