Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya has taken a tough stand in the case of forgery in the selection of beneficiaries in the Nanda-Gaura scheme in Haridwar district. He has written a letter to the departmental secretary, instructing him to register an FIR in the police in this matter.
In order to maintain purity in this, it is necessary that strict punishment should be given to the parents of the ineligible beneficiaries, as well as to the officers and employees involved in this case, so that no one can do this type of act in future.
In Haridwar district in the current financial year, out of 1327 applicants who received the benefit of birth under the Nanda-Gaura scheme, 70 applications and out of 4174 applications made on the basis of 12th pass, 123 applications had tampered income certificates.
After this was confirmed in the investigation, the Chief Development Officer of Haridwar had rejected these 193 applications. Then after this matter came to the notice, the departmental minister had directed the departmental officers to take necessary action after investigating the matter thoroughly.
Minister Arya has now sent a letter in this matter to the departmental secretary. He has said that it is a serious and regrettable situation to find such a large number of ineligible people by wrongly tampering with the income certificate and by taking away the rights of the eligible person. It is necessary to stop this at all costs, so that a clear message goes to the public that the government is determined to take strict action against any person, officer, employee involved in unfair action.
Instructions for investigation in other districts as well:
In the light of the Haridwar incident, Cabinet Minister Arya has now instructed the officials to get the records of the beneficiaries of the Nanda-Gaura scheme checked in all the districts. He said that it should be ensured that no ineligible person can get the benefit of the scheme by taking away the rights of any eligible person.
