The training program of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is being prepared to start in the first week of January. In this, the employees of the District Magistrate’s office, Tehsil, Block and Service Center in villages will not only be told the legal provisions of UCC, but people will also be taught the way to register marriage, divorce, live-in etc., get will and other benefits through the app and website of UCC. Secretary, Home Shailesh Bagauli said, the training program will be started by the government from next week, in which training will be given at the levels from DM office to SDM, Gram Vikas, Municipal Corporation, Tax Department etc., although this will be a continuous process.
Emphasis on making CC user friendly
The biggest responsibility of implementing UCC on the ground will be of the officers and employees of Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Palika level. Although CM Dhami has announced the implementation of UCC in January, the government wants to first make UCC user friendly and make every employee, especially the service center workers in the villages, aware of the information related to the new law. For the effective implementation of UCC, the government has constituted a four-member implementation committee under the chairmanship of former IAS Shatrughan Singh. This committee is providing guidance and advice in training bureaucrats, assistance in preparing master trainers, website etc. The committee includes Doon University Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal, social worker Manu Gaur, ADGP Amit Sinha and local commissioner Ajay Mishra. At present, the final report of UCC is with the Home Department. The Law Department has suggested some amendments in it, which is being worked on with the advice of the UCC implementation committee.
