Had met Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi:
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had met Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav in New Delhi on February 18. During this, the Chief Minister had said that it is necessary to remove sub-mineral deposits (RBM) in the mountain rivers for flood control and protection of forest and agricultural land situated on the river banks as well as to meet the preventive objectives of disaster management.

Forest clearance expiring on February 28:
The removal of sub-mineral is also required to protect the riparian rights of the common people, especially the farmers. The forest clearance received now is expiring on 28 February. Due to non-renewal of these approvals, there will be a lot of difficulty in removing minerals from the rivers.

Forest clearances renewed for five years:
On Thursday, following the request of the Chief Minister, the Center has renewed the forest clearances for five years. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that availability of RBM from these rivers is also necessary for important works like civil construction works, expansion of road and rail network for religious and strategic purposes. Due to this, employment will also be available to about 50 thousand local and migrant workers.
