The third meeting of the G20 Infrastructure Development Working Group began on Monday at Narendranagar near Rishikesh. Apart from G-20 member countries, a total of 63 representatives of invited countries and international organizations have participated in the meeting.
Solomon Arokiaraj, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, shared the information of the program at Hotel Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas, the venue of the program in Narendranagar on Sunday. He informed that in the third meeting of the Infrastructural Development Working Group, concrete progress in the direction of various work streams of 2023 infrastructural development will be discussed.
‘Financing Cities of Tomorrow, Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable’ is a top priority to be discussed in this meeting, among other priorities. He informed that two seminars will be organized in this meeting of the Infrastructural Development Working Group.
A ‘High-Level Seminar on Roadmap for Sustainable Cities’ will be organized in partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank on Monday. Discussions over three sessions will provide G20 policymakers an opportunity to explore the role of rapid urbanization and inclusivity, technology, infratech and digitization, as well as key challenges ranging from climate change to infrastructure resilience . Delegates will understand the infrastructural model of Nusantara, one of the most ambitious cities in the world, in Indonesia.
International and country experts will also participate in the discussion and share their experiences and suggestions. He informed that a conference on making India an MRO (Maintenance, Repairing and Overhaul) hub will be organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on June 27, in which the opportunities offered by India in the MRO sector will be discussed. Aman Garg and Director Jitendra Raje, Director, Ministry of Finance, Government of India were also present in the press conference.
Work of the G-20 Infrastructure Working Group:
The G-20 Infrastructure Development Working Group discusses various aspects of infrastructure investment. It also includes developing infrastructure as an asset class, promoting quality infrastructure investment and identifying innovative instruments for raising financial resources for infrastructure investment. The outcomes of the Infrastructure Development Working Group add to the G20 Finance Track priorities and promote infrastructure development.

Finance Ministry director Aman Garg said that apart from formal discussions during the three-day meeting, the delegates would participate in various official meetings and cultural programmes. The delegates will also be shown the rich culture of Uttarakhand. Folk artists of Uttarakhand will give presentations of folk art, singing and instruments in the cultural evening.
Will provide an opportunity to the delegates to enjoy the local cuisine along with the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand. Dinner and dialogue will also be hosted by Uttarakhand. Along with this, the guests will also be made to experience the spiritual atmosphere and natural beauty of Rishikesh. On the afternoon of June 28, the delegates will be taken on a tour of Uttarakhand Model Village Oni village. After this, the delegates will participate in the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh.

The delegates arriving at the third meeting of the G20 Infrastructure Development Working Group held at the Hotel Westin Resort & Spa Himalayas in Narendranagar will also participate in a yoga and meditation camp here. For this, a yoga retreat program has been organized on June 26 in the morning. Apart from this, on June 28, the representatives of G-20 will also play a friendly cricket match at the ground of Police Training College.
