It is a challenge for the Municipal Corporation to make a door-to-door garbage collection system in the city. The garbage collection system in the wards allotted to Econ Waste Management Company is derailed. Not only this, vehicles are not coming regularly even in the wards around the Mayor’s residence. People are constantly complaining, but the problem is not being solved. However, now the Municipal Corporation can soon show the door to Econ Waste Management. After the tender fraud came to light, an investigation is also being conducted in the corporation. Also, if the garbage collection is not done regularly, the Municipal Corporation will take care of the system in 26 wards by removing the company. Along with this, the corporation will now have to make the garbage collection system in 73 wards itself.
The system is going off track day by day
By removing Watergrace Company, the Municipal Corporation is handling the door-to-door garbage collection system in 47 wards and now the situation in these wards has started improving. However, the system in the 26 wards allotted to Econ is going off track day by day. Due to non-payment of salary to the employees on time and lack of monitoring of garbage lifting vehicles, the vehicles are reaching the wards in 10 to 15 days. Due to which people are cursing the Municipal Corporation. Apart from this, after a big fraud came to light in the tender of Econ Company, preparations are being made to remove the company.
The company was working by getting tenders on the basis of forged documents and huge payments were being made by the Municipal Corporation. The complicity of the officials of the Health and Finance Section has also been confirmed in the matter.
The Municipal Corporation is also investigating the tender fraud
The investigation report of the committee formed at the administrative level has confirmed the fraud in giving the tender to Econ Company and action has been recommended due to the complicity of the Municipal Corporation personnel. Now the Municipal Corporation itself has also started investigating this matter. A report of all the points of the case is being prepared by forming a committee.
There is no garbage collection even in the Mayor’s area
Due to the negligence of the door-to-door garbage collection company, the system is off track in many big wards. The surprising thing is that the vehicles are not coming regularly even in the wards around the Mayor’s residence. Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal lives in Mohkampur area. Nearby are wards like Nakaraunda, Mianwala, Balawala etc., where there are complaints that the garbage collection vehicle reaches in one to two weeks.
