The government has become serious about the formation of a travel authority for better management and operation of Chardham and other pilgrimages in Uttarakhand, which is important from the point of view of pilgrimage. In view of the formation of the authority, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the Additional Chief Secretary and Infrastructure Development Commissioner to submit the report after thorough examination on all aspects. Apart from Chardham in the state, other religious pilgrimages including Kanwar, Purnagiri take place at regular intervals in the year. Along with this, the government is also laying special emphasis on developing facilities including rejuvenation of religious places to promote pilgrimage.
Steps are being taken for the development of Dhams
While Kedarnath Dham has blossomed into a new colour, the work of improving Badrinath Dham is going on. Steps are also being taken for the development of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams. Along with this, Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission has been started for the temples of Kumaon division on the lines of Chardham. Due to all this, the number of pilgrims in the state is continuously increasing. In such a situation, there is also the challenge of travel management and operation. Although, preparations are made at the government level before the commencement of the yatra, but problems also arise when the crowd increases. In view of all this, the need for the formation of a travel authority is being felt. Under this, emphasis is being laid on doing it in an integrated manner by covering all the subjects including facilities and management on travel routes. Recently, the Chief Minister had also given instructions to consider regarding the travel authority in view of efficient management and operation of various trips taking place in the state. On Tuesday he discussed with officials in this regard. In this regard, the Chief Minister has instructed the Additional Chief Secretary and Infrastructure Development Commissioner to discuss all the aspects and submit a report. The Additional Chief Secretary also discussed with the officials in this regard.
