The government will provide roofs to economically weaker women of nine hill districts of Uttarakhand, who have not been able to benefit from any housing scheme. A new plan is being brought for this. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya, during the departmental review meeting on Wednesday, instructed the officials to prepare the draft of the plan by November 15. Under the scheme, such women will be provided a two-room prefabricated house.

Later, while talking to the media, Minister Arya said that after getting the draft of the scheme to provide roof to economically weaker women, it will be brainstormed. The effort is to start this scheme in the new year. Pre-fabricated houses or equivalent amount can be provided to the beneficiary women.
Registration problem solved in Nanda Gaura Yojana
Minister Arya said that the portal has been started on October 22 for online registration of beneficiaries applying under Nanda Gaura Scheme. The problem being faced was that girls who had completed six months of age before the launch of the portal were not being registered.
Instructions have been given in this regard that the registration of such girls will be offline. After the launch of the portal, registration of girls born will be online. Instructions have been given to all the district program officers. Besides, it has also been asked to give it wide publicity.
Rules will be ready by November 15
There was a discussion in the meeting regarding the use of the amount of Rs 8 crore received as additional fee from the Excise Department for the Women’s Welfare Fund. Minister Arya said that in order to use this amount in works like women empowerment, self-employment, single women, women safety, financial help to children orphaned in disaster or accident, the department has been instructed to prepare its outline and rules by November 15. .
Explanation sought from officials who kept the video off
District Program Officers and Probation Officers from all the districts were connected to the departmental review meeting through video conferencing. During this period the videos of many officers were off. Also, clear information was not available on some points. On this, the Minister gave instructions to seek clarification from the concerned officials. He also said that officers who are inattentive to their duties will not be tolerated.
