Clouds camped
Partial clouds were hovering in Doon since Monday morning. There was light drizzle at some places. However, in the outer areas, the spells of intense showers continued intermittently. There were several rounds of rain throughout the day in areas like Sahasradhara, Maldevta, Jollygrant, Malsi, Shikhar Fall, Thano etc. However, the city remained cloudy and light showers occurred in the afternoon. During this time, humidity also bothered. Due to heavy rains in the outskirts of the city, rivers and streams overflowed and footpaths and bridges were also damaged at many places, due to which the movement of the people of the area came to a halt. According to the Meteorological Department, Dehradun is expected to remain partly cloudy on Tuesday.
Also, there may be one or two rounds of heavy to very heavy rain at some places. An alert has been issued regarding this. It has been advised to maintain distance from the banks of rivers and streams and not to go to areas sensitive to landslides in the mountains.
