Heavy rains have become a disaster in most areas of Uttarakhand including Dehradun. Life is affected due to overflowing of rivers and streams and landslides in hilly areas.
More than 130 mm of rainfall was recorded in Dehradun and Mussoorie area throughout the day. Due to which there is also news of a lot of damage at many places. Along with this, intermittent periods of intense rain are also occurring in the hilly districts.
CM Dhami visited disaster affected areas
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday visited Kirsali Chowk, IT Park, Nanurkheda, Aamwala, Tapovan and Shanti Vihar in Raipur area. He interacted with the local people and listened to their problems and directed the district administration to provide immediate relief. The CM asked all the departments to remain alert to improve drainage in waterlogged areas, install warning boards and reduce response time. On this occasion, Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Vice President of Disaster Management Advisory Committee Vinay Ruhela, Councilor Abhishek Pant etc. were present.
