Partial clouds are hovering over Uttarakhand and heavy rains are continuing in some places. However, the mood of the weather is suddenly changing in Doon. After bright sunshine in the morning, heavy rains are happening till evening. The weather may remain like this for the next few days. On Saturday, the Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli district is blocked due to debris in Kameda, Nandprayag and Chhinka. Travelers are waiting for the highway to open.
Yellow alert issued regarding rain
According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, there may be heavy rains with thunderstorms in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. Yellow alert has been issued regarding heavy rains along with lightning in some areas. Partial clouds may remain in other districts. Bright sunshine appeared in Doon on Friday after partial clouds hovering since morning. By noon, the sun made people sweat and the mercury also rose. However, the weather changed from around 3 pm in the afternoon and light showers started. After this, heavy rain continued in most areas of the city till late evening. Due to which the mercury dropped. Due to rain, waterlogging also occurred at many places in the city. Movement was affected due to rain water flowing on the roads. There may be heavy rains in Doon even today. There are also chances of light sunshine amidst partial clouds.
Water entered the houses due to clogged drains
In Ward-85 of the Municipal Corporation, rain water entered the houses and shops due to clogged drains and lack of drainage system. Local resident Lata Semwal said that rain water is entering the shops and houses. Due to no arrangement for drainage, the roads turn into ponds during rain. Water is also flowing on the roads from the forest side, due to which children and the elderly are facing problems in movement.
