After the order issued by Directorate General of Health regarding Human Metapneumo Virus (HMPV), Doon Hospital management has come into action. Principal of Doon Medical College has called an emergency meeting of the officials. On this, Principal of Medical College Dr. Geeta Jain said that preparations are complete in the hospital regarding seasonal influenza and HMPV virus. An ICU isolation ward of eight beds has already been prepared here. Necessary decisions will be taken in this regard by holding a meeting with officials and doctors today. It is being told that there is a risk of respiratory infection from Human Metapneumo Virus. It was discovered in 2001. Infection with this has symptoms similar to common cold or flu. It can affect people of all ages. Small children, elderly and people with weak immunity are most at risk. Like corona, this virus also spreads through coughing, sneezing and coming too close to an infected person.
