The woman duped several retired army personnel of Rs 17 lakh 11 thousand by pretending to be a secretariat employee and promising them a job in the secretariat and hiring vehicles in the departments. Each victim has given around Rs 50 thousand to the woman. The number of victims may be 34 or more. However, the police are still waiting for more victims to come forward.
A case was registered against the woman
Raipur police station has registered a case against the accused woman. Rakesh Chandra resident of Shimla Bypass told Raipur police station that during November 2022, Pushpa Shah resident of Lime Kiln Adhoiwala Raipur told him that she works in a big NGO. Besides, he is also working in the secretariat. Uttarakhand Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation Limited (UPNAL), security companies and transport are also under its control in the Secretariat. The woman deceived that she provides employment to retired army soldiers and their dependents, she has been doing this work for the last 15 years. For the job, each person is asked to deposit an amount of Rs 50 thousand as security money.

The woman said that the person concerned with this money is registered. If a job is not found within three months, the money is returned. Falling in the trap of the woman, many ex-servicemen along with Rakesh Chandra gave Rs 17 lakh 11 thousand to the woman for getting the registration done, but no one got the job. The woman’s phone has also been switched off for the last nine months. Raipur police station incharge Kundan Ram said that a case has been registered against the accused Pushpa Shah.
